Pro Trip

This is the trip to maximise time on the river : more time swimming, more (and higher) jumps, and bigger rapids!  The Pro Trip starts as far up the river as possible, just below the EDF Hydro-Electric power station, where you'll experience the upper Dranse: steep cliffs and narrow passes.  You'll be asked to swim to acclimatise to the water temperature, and to paddle as a team - this first part is a scenic warm up for the second part!  To avoid the un-navigable part of the higher Dranse, you'll disembark and we drive 500ms before putting in just above the grade IV rapid called La Pissette: this is why you've warmed up!  It'll be the first rapid on the second half of the trip, and it's important that the whole crew is working together.  After negotiating the crazy rocks after Pissette, you come to the start of the Inbetween Trip and continue down river and back to the base.  In total you're on the river for 2h30, and you travel about 8 kms from the start.  As with all the trips, you'll receive a comprehensive safety briefing at the start of the trip.

About the Trips

Trips generally last about 2 hours and the exact spot for take-off can vary depending on the water level. Guests meet us either at our base or at a designated car-park, and we will take you to the take-off point having fully kitted you out for your time on the river. Before the trip you will be fitted with helmets, full wetsuits (no worries about being cold with us!), boots and life jackets, and given a paddle. When you arrive at the take-off point, you will be given a safety briefing explaining the river and good practices while you’re on it/in it!

After your briefing you’re off! You will have a bi-lingual guide with you at all times during your descent and he knows various tricks and games should you want to play! At the end of your trip you will be taken back to your vehicle. We advise everyone to bring a towel and bathing costume with them. Children must be over 8 years of age in the raft, over 12 years of age for airboating, hydrospeeding or canyoning. All guests must be able to swim 25 metres.
